RC Transfer Guide
The complete RC transfer process after selling your car — documents, RTO steps and timelines.
Important: RC transfer within 14 days of sale is mandatory under Motor Vehicles Act. Both buyer and seller must complete RTO formalities.

Sale Agreement
Buyer and seller sign the sale agreement / Form 29 & 30.
- 02
Clear Pending Dues
Settle any challans, loan (NOC) and insurance transfer.

Visit RTO
Submit the application at the local RTO with documents from both parties.
- 04
New RC Issued
A new RC is issued in the buyer's name within 7–15 working days.

- •Original RC (Registration Certificate)
- •Form 29 & 30 (signed)
- •Insurance copy
- •PUC certificate
- •Seller & buyer ID proof
- •Address proof
- •NOC (if loan cleared)
